RARE David Niven Signed Book "Go Slowly Come Back Quickly" 1981 1st Edition HCDJ This is Niven's "second" novel (his first, Once over Lightly, from 1951, vanished, and he had almost finished a third before his death in 1983), is set during WWII and then in Hollywood from the 40s through the 80s. It follows the life and love of a half-Polish, half-American RAF pilot through the war into a film career. Elements of both novels draw on his own experiences in the military (he was a Sandhurst graduate, who left the British Army in 1933 but returned to duty for WWII, serving in Normandy and later.) and of course, Hollywood.
